With the go-e Charger, go-e offers an affordable and compact wallbox capable of using PV surplus from your solar system to charge your car. This wallbox is available in several versions: The current model is the Gemini; these instructions also apply to the predecessor, the V3. The older model is also supported.

The go-e Charger features an online interface that allows us to communicate with your wallbox. Automatic phase switching is also supported.

Preparation

A basic requirement for using the V3 or V4 (Gemini) generation is the correct firmware and app version. The firmware version must be at least 56.1. For the app, you need at least version 4.1.2. You can view and update these versions in the go-e Charger app under [Settings].

Tap [About]

The app version is displayed at the bottom.

For the firmware version, tap [Firmware].

Tap [Settings]

Tap [Connection]

Tap [API settings]

Toggle the switches for [Allow cloud connection] and [Allow cloud HTTP] to ON.

Then tap [API key].

Then tap [Generate API key] and copy it.

Integration

To connect the go-e Charger to our system and charge with surplus solar power, enter the copied API key and the 6-digit serial number.

Automatic phase switching

For automatic phase switching, we use the parameters stored under [Settings] -> [Auto]. Ensure that "Simulate unplugging" and the phase switching duration are compatible with your vehicle. Test the phase switching using the go-e app before using it with our system.

To avoid control issues, configure your wallbox as follows:

Digital input

The digital input is used for power limitation and can be configured under Settings -> Safety.

Please ensure the correct configuration here to avoid charging power limitations during normal operation.

You can now have your wallbox controlled automatically and charge your car with low-cost solar power!
